With the approval of the Chief or Sheriff, it is eligible for continuing education credit. ECU offers the course at no charge, and at virtually any location in eastern North Carolina, on any day or evening of the week.

Up In Smoke: Investigation Arson
Registration is now open for the 2nd Annual Arson Investigation training being held at the Public Safety Campus of Wake Technical Community College. There is no registration fee and continuing education credit will be available through Wake Tech for law enforcement and fire professionals. Fire professionals will need an affiliation letter on your agency’s letterhead that includes the name(s) of those attending. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the individual or department.

Elder Abuse and Exploitation: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Justice
This multidisciplinary course will offer prosecutors, legal assistants, law enforcement, Adult Protective Services staff and other allied professionals the opportunity to discuss important issues and obstacles in the prosecution of cases involving older and disabled adults. This conference will address the common misconceptions that often hinder the successful prosecution of such crimes, offer practical tools for overcoming these barriers and will assist you in understanding the dynamics of working with older and disabled victims.
