Interview and Interrogation

Who Should Attend:

Personnel presently assigned to the investigative function of the agency.

Course Goals:

To provide the technical skills necessary for effective interviewing and interrogating. 

Course Objectives:

The student will be able to:

► Conduct an interview of a victim or witness of a crime.
► Develop an interrogation plan.
► Conduct an interrogation of a suspect of a crime.


Lecture, demonstration and practical exercises are employed.

Course Requirements:

Attendance is required at all class sessions. The participant must pass a written examination with a minimum score of 70%. The course focus is on the technical aspects of interviewing and interrogating. Legal issues are not part of this course. The participant should seek other foundation in the legal aspects of interviewing and interrogating.

Special Concerns:
Outside reading assignments are required.
