2020 RTI Policing Symposium

March 6, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

RTI International’s Center for Policing Research and Investigative Science is hosting its fifth annual policing symposium on March 6, 2020, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on RTI’s campus in Research Triangle Park, N.C. The theme for this event is Multifaceted Crisis Response.

This year’s event will be co-sponsored by the North Carolina Justice Academy. Training hours from attending the event in person will count toward an intermediate/advanced law enforcement certificate via the Criminal Justice and Sheriffs’ Commissions.

The intended audience is law enforcement, first responders, death investigators, victim advocates, policymakers, other criminal justice and public health professionals, and researchers. The symposium will focus on pressing issues that are impacting organizations and individuals working to make a difference in public safety and related fields in emergency response. These topics include cross-agency crisis response, workforce resiliency, multidisciplinary response to the opioid epidemic, and victim-centered response to domestic violence and sexual assault. This year, attendees will have the option to attend in-person or virtually.
