About the Justice Academy

The North Carolina Justice Academy offers training programs to criminal justice personnel; provides technical assistance to criminal justice agencies upon request; and develops and distributes educational and training materials.

Our mission is to serve the citizens of North Carolina by enhancing the careers of criminal justice officers through research, education, and training.

Training & Operations

The Training Division has a team of experienced and dedicated instructors covering various subject matters.  Legal, Law Enforcement Leadership, Commission and In-Service, Tactical and Traffic, and Investigations are only a few of the disciplines covered by our instructors. The educational research and development team is also housed with the Training Division and includes the operation of a 20,000-volume library.

The Operations Division operates a full-service print shop, an audio/visual production unit that includes a graphic arts section, the business office, maintenance & housekeeping teams, and a bookstore.
