Begin keyword, title, or author searches by visiting our Library Catalog.
Note: to access our library catalog from your agency, please have your IT administrator contact the library supervisor to have your agency whitelisted. This will ensure you can access the library catalog from your agency.
Our main print collection comprises over 15,000 books focused on law enforcement and criminal justice: topics include cybercrime, forensics, patrol, SWAT, criminal investigations, community-oriented policing, leadership, terrorism response/investigations, intelligence analysis, and much more. These items circulate for 30 days and are renewable, provided items are not waitlisted.
The NCJA library also carries print journal subscriptions on a variety of topics, such as accident analysis, digital forensics, behavioral science/investigative psychology, victimology, suicide/homicide, forensics, threat assessment, and more, as well as popular magazines and trade journals such as SWAT, Police Chief, and Sheriff & Deputy.
Video & Audio
The library maintains a collection of nearly 1,000 training videos, including language-learning courses in several languages. These are all available for check-out at 30-day intervals. While you are on campus, you may browse from a list of recently released movies to borrow, or check out video games and controllers for our two gaming systems.
Online
In conjunction with the library’s print journal collections, the library maintains online access to several key titles not available in any database. These critical publications constitute our electronic journal collection and are available via the “Library Journals” section of this website. Our library catalog is available 24/7 from any internet-connected terminal.
See our additional online content — ebooks, electronic journals, audio, video — by selecting “Databases” from the navigation menu on the left.
The library has a number of resources available: books, journals, magazines, language-learning materials, and videos. You can check out books and other circulating materials while you’re here or request that items be mailed to you. We ship items to you at no cost.
Can’t Find It?
If you find a book you’d like to read or review that isn’t in our catalog, we can obtain it for you via Interlibrary Loan (ILL). The NCJA Library has access to the collections of millions of libraries worldwide, which means we can arrange to borrow a book, journal article, or DVD from another library. Some items may be difficult to obtain, but generally, ILLs have a 1-2 week turnaround.
