FBI Report: Active Shooter Incidents 20-Year Review 2000-2019: This report, produced by the FBI’s Office of Partner Engagement, encompasses statistical data regarding 333 active shooter incidents in the United States between 2000 and 2019. Each page focuses on a particular active shooter-related topic and has been designed specifically for law enforcement officers, other first responders, corporations, educators, and the general public. Trends and Patterns in Firearm Violence, 1993-2023: “This report examines trends and patterns in firearm violence from 1993 to 2023 using a combination of data sources to provide a broad perspective on fatal and nonfatal firearm violence in the United States that could not be achieved through any single source of information. It includes data on firearm type; incident location; victim and offender demographic characteristics and relationship; injury and treatment type; police notification; and victims’ self-protective behaviors.”

21st Century Task Force Release Renewed Call to Action: Former members of The Task Force on 21st Century Policing, convened by President Obama in 2014, have released a Renewed Call to Action with eight recommendations and action steps that focus on police accountability, transparency, culture, the development of national standards, and community policing. The former members were convened by Laurie Robinson (Senior Fellow and Distinguished Achievement Award recipient of the CEBCP) and Charles Ramsey (CEBCP Evidence-Based Policing Hall of Fame recipient).

“Statistics released today in the FBI’s Preliminary Semiannual Uniform Crime Report revealed overall declines in the number of violent crimes and property crimes reported for the first six months of 2018 when compared with figures for the first six months of 2017. The report is based on information from 14,509 law enforcement agencies that submitted three to six months of comparable data to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program.”
