Conflict Management for Mid-Level Managers

Who Should Attend:

Mid-level managers in law enforcement, communications or detention positions.

Course Goal:

To present the student with information necessary to identify conflict, understand elements of conflict and develop a plan for conflict management within their agency.

Course Objectives:

1. Define conflict.
2. Identify six (6) common causes of conflict.
3. Identify and explain the five (5) modes of addressing conflict, using the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Model.
4. List and describe five (5) methods for managing conflict.

Lecture/Conference/Practical Exercises

Course Requirements:

100% attendance
Pretest
Successful completion of post-test.
Course is structured for mid-level managers.
