Overview of Services

In support of the statutory duties of the Justice Academy, the Legal Center
1) provides a series of advanced and specialized courses in a variety of legal topic areas. These are listed on the Academy’s web site;
2) Provides technical assistance by answering questions from law enforcement officers via the telephone, fax and Internet. While the answers are not to be considered opinions of the Attorney General’s Office, they are useful to officers just as though they were being posed in the classroom environment;
3) Provides educational and training materials for its own courses and other Academy curricula. In addition, a series of articles on the Academy’s web site, videotapes, and written publications on matters of current interest.

Legal Updates

In an effort to provide relevant, immediate and convenient access to legal information, the NC Justice Academy has added a legal commentary segment to its web site. Only law enforcement professionals and other persons with explicit consent from N.C. Department of Justice personnel are permitted to view the legal commentary from this site. All other individuals are considered "unauthorized" and therefore restricted.
