Commission / In-Service Center

The Commission and In-Service Training Center began in January 2007 when the Tactical and Commission Center was split into two different training centers. The Commission and In-Service Training Center is responsible for the management and development of the annual in-service training project related to law enforcement officers, detention officers, and telecommunicators. The CIC instructors manage and develop mandatory in-service training and department topics of choice for law enforcement officers, telecommunicators and detention officers each year. We also provide a great opportunity for all instructors who teach in-service by providing In-service Instructor Update courses associated with each of the in-service programs.

Our Center manages and distributes the Basic Law Enforcement Training, Detention Officer Certification Course and Telecommunicator Certification Course curricula that are required for each new employee in their respective field. Each of our programs and curriculum is taught throughout the state by certified criminal justice instructors. The programs may be delivered in their respective agency or through the local community college. NCJA’s Learn Center online courses and website are also developed and published as a primary function of this training center.
