COHORT Diversity Training - Community Organizers Helping Officers Restore Trust

Who Should Attend:

Sworn law enforcement officers, correction officers, probation officers, and other law enforcement professionals.

Course Goal:

The Community COHORT Diversity Training program exists for the purpose of helping Law Enforcement Agencies and Departments across the country build, maintain, and restore trust with the diverse communities that they serve.

Course Objectives:

  1. Explore and analyze the existing relationship between their specific Law Enforcement Agency and the diverse communities that they serve.
  2. Reflect on the roles that all stakeholders have played in the cause of any issues and what role they can specifically play in the resolution, both individually and collectively.
  3. Understand how to effectively apply the 4-step MEET Model to strengthen their relationship with diverse communities and “out groups”.
  4. Develop S.M.A.R.T. action steps that can immediately be applied to start the resolution and reconciliation process within their respective agencies, departments, organizations, and communities. 

Methodologies:

This course employs lecture, conference, and analytical exercises. 

Course Requirements:

Attendance is required for all class sessions. 

Special Concerns:

Attendees must register at North Carolina Justice Academy Training Portal and submit payments to Tru Pettigrew, CEO of Tru Access. Your check is to be made out to Tru Access Consulting and sent to 101 Castle Garden Street, Cary, NC, 27513.  This is a vendor course for which the following fees apply: $150 for one person. Two-person teams pay $250 total; three-person teams pay $100 per person.
