Who Should Attend:

Police chiefs, executive staff, and criminal justice personnel responsible for processing agency and officer paperwork to be submitted to Criminal Justice Standards Division and/or conducting pre-employment background investigations of applicants/certified employees to ensure they meet and maintain minimum employment and retention standards. |
Course Goal:

To provide information to law enforcement agencies on the various sections and functions of the Criminal Justice Standards Division including specifics on paperwork, investigations, and training. |
Course Objectives:

The student will be able to achieve the following objectives in accordance with information received during the instructional period:

Describe the composition of the Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission and relate the purpose of the Criminal Justice Standards Division.

Discuss various Criminal Justice Standards forms, how to successfully complete those forms and describe other important steps in the certification process.

Identify certification requirements through discussion of various Criminal Justice Standards forms.

Discuss the review process for possible violations and explain how the probable cause process of the Criminal Justice Commission works.

Define Company and Campus Police requirements.

Describe the duties of the Criminal Justice Standards Field Representatives.

Discuss the requirements of mandated in-service training.

Explain the Professional Certificate program administered by the Criminal Justice Standards Division.
