Advanced Sex Crimes Investigations

Who Should Attend:

Patrol officers, investigators and other persons responsible for responding to victims of sexual assault who have attended Introduction to Sex Crimes Investigations and are interested in advancing their knowledge and skill level.

Course Goal:

To provide law enforcement with a better understanding of the perpetrator and his/her motivation, as well as advanced skills in the management of high profile and multiple victim investigations.

Course Objectives:

At the conclusion of this training, the student will be able to:
. Differentiate between the different types of sexual paraphilias.
. Organize case files for a multiple victim investigation.
. Compare and contrast the basic profile types of sexual predators

Methodologies:

This course employs a combination of case study and lecture/discussion method.

Course Requirements:

Attendance of 100% is required at all class sessions.  Participant must have successfully completed course #3184, Introduction to Sex Crimes Investigations, or #5007, Sexual Assault Response Team Conference.

Special Concerns:
Class will begin at 8:00 a.m. unless otherwise directed by the instructor.
