ASP Instructor Certification

Who Should Attend:

Sworn Law Enforcement Officers who will be instructing the use of the ASP collapsible baton, flash light techniques, and ASP handcuffs. You must be a Sworn Law Enforcement.

Course Goal:

Present the participant information and skills to enable certification as an ASP Instructor.

Course Objectives:

Learn proper techniques for teaching strikes and other defensive tactics with the ASP collapsible baton.

Learn flashlight techniques and teaching methods.

Learn ASP method of applying handcuffs and proper instructional methods.

Methodologies:

Lecture and practical exercises.

Course Requirements:

Pants that will accommodate a duty belt and duty gear such as BDUs, Shoes with Linear and Lateral Support. Duty belt for ASP Scabbard.

Special Concerns:

No known heart or lung problems.  No known bone or joint issues.  No history of back problems.  Able to run one mile in 12 minutes, 25 consecutive push-ups, 50 bent leg sit-ups.

Registration & Fee:

Register through the North Carolina Justice Academy Training Portal.  Applications will be emailed from Richard White to the student for payment information for deposit to hold seat in the class. Fee to be refunded first day of class. Fee: $50.00
